Seattle, Washington
In the image above, we traveled to Seattle Washington for a few days. Within those few days we visited Amazon Spheres were we got to witness their innate connection to nature. We also visited Microsoft Headquaters
Florida Poytechnic University
In the image above, we attended STEAM Camp at Florida Polytechnic University for a week.. After a week filled with rigorous activities such as high-tech agriculture, 3-D printing, robotics, coding, and behind-the-scenes science roller coasters, this residential learning has given us a realistic taste of what it's like to live and study in a college.
Universal Studios
In the image above, we visited Universal Studios for the weekend. This day was Leadership and Personal Development Day.
I was privileged to be appointed a Polk State College Brand Ambassador for the 2019–2020 academic year.
Shadowing Experience
Tuesday and Thursday at Winnie Palmer Hospital, I had the chance to shadow Registered Nurse Rylande Chavane, RN. I gained firsthand knowledge of working with patients, particularly women, as well as firsthand experience working with people in the medical industry thanks to this chance. Nurse Chavane shared her experiences and counsel with me in addition to responding to all of my inquiries. Nurse Chavanne gave me the opportunity to obtain some practical experience as well, as illustrated in the images below. The picture on the far right a urine dip was used to determine whether a patient was dehydrated, glucose levels were checked to determine whether the patient's blood sugar was increased, nitrate levels were checked to determine whether the patient had a UTI, and leukocyte counts were examined to determine whether the patient had an infection.
